Maysville, KY to Falmouth, KY , via Germantown, Chatham, Gertrude, Cummingsville,Lenoxberg, Caddo and a number of other “towns” that exist only as place names on a map, no town, not even a sign!

Total 1,043.3 miles
This is the most rural stretch of country I’ve traveled yet. Today I passed, maybe, 50 cars and was chased by at least 25 dogs ( I’m not exaggerating) ! There are no pictures of the dogs, I was too busy fending them off! It appears that at one time this was a tobacco producing area judging by the number of tobacco barns I passed. Yet I saw not one tobacco plant, although every male around here seems to smoke. The fields, now, are covered in a rich luxurious carpet of green grass and the horses and cattle seem content eating their fill. It was a spectacularly beautiful ride!

This was actually one of the only real towns I passed!
I had lunch here and could have stayed all day. If Sam Drucker had walked out of the back room I would not have been surprised. It was the only store of any kind that I passed. Two very nice women run the place. You pump the gas and settle up, no one seems to question if you’re telling the truth about the amount you pumped.
This was my view from my hotel this morning. The tug is pushing a barge full of coal, perhaps headed for Pittsburgh.
